Two Months

Emma is 2 months old today. Wow! Time flies when you are having fun (and trying to figure out how in the world to be a parent!). She's brought such joy and excitement and sense of completeness to our lives. It is so much fun seeing her change every day and trying to figure out her little personality.

She had her 2 month check-up today, which included a round of vaccines. I sure wish I could erase from my mind the utter look of shock on her face when the nurse stuck her in the legs. It just broke my heart! I've never seen her little face turn so red from the screaming afterward. Thankfully it only lasted a few seconds. But I think that is probably the first real pain she has ever felt in her life (though who knows what the birthing process felt like for her???).

The good news is that the little spout is growing, growing, growing. She is up 9oz from just 10 days ago when we took her in for her reflux (Dr. said they like to see 0.5 - 1.0 oz increase each day). She is 23rd percentile for weight [9lb 10oz; was 10th percentile at 2 weeks] and 50th for length [22 1/4"; was 20th percentile at 2 weeks].

Here are some new pictures in honor of her 2 month birthday...

  1. So cute! Great family portraits too.
Glad to hear she's thriving and picking up weight and length. Hopefully I'll get the same report in 1.5 weeks.

  2. Happy 2 months to your baby girl! I'm sure watching your baby get shots is no fun at all. Luckily though they remember so little of it. :)

  7. She is beautiful! I love those bumpos! I've been a slacker when it comes to commenting (and even blogging) but it is great to see things going so well! Hey - how is your pumping for the freezer going? I'm still doing it since I may have to stop breastfeeding sooner than later due to the fact that we want to start working on a sibling, and I'm trying to store up a ton in the freezer so that we can extend out the time she gets breastfed, even if we aren't using the boob anymore (which is going to be SO HARD for me to stop doing!). Are you getting more when you pump? I seem to have levelled off...which is annoying!

  8. Happy 2 months (+ one week, since I'm late)!

Sam and Anna have been on prevacid for their reflux for weeks- their reflux was so severe we skipped right past the Zantac and they got started with prevacid. Even with that, they had a reflux flare up this week- but it seems to be better now that we're back to using the Up&Up gentlease-like formula again.
