Favorite Books

Emma is just now getting to the point where she'll sit still for longer than 2 seconds and let you read her a book. It's a nice place to be.

We definitely have some favorites in the household. Emma has some favorites. And I have a few that I particularly like to read because they are so catchy.

Emma LOVES "Snuggle Puppy" and "Pajama Time" by Sandra Boynton. If you say "It's pajama time" she immediately replies "yeah, yeah." She also loves lifting the flaps while I read "Dear Zoo" by Rod Campbell.

I love to read to her "Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom" by Bill Martin, "Llama Llama Red Pajama" by Anna Dewdney, and "Let's Dance, Little Pookie" by Sandra Boynton.

We definitely hope she grows up a lover of books.

What are some of your favorites?

  2. Boynton's 'Going to Bed Book' and 'Wynkin, Blinkyn, and Nod' get a lot of time. Also, 'The Little Engine That Could' and 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.'

And 2nd 'Llama, Llama, Red Pajama' and 'Pajama Time.'

We've also been given a few books which just don't work for either of us - I don't like reading them and they don't hold Little One's interest visually or aurally.

  3. The Belly Button book by Boynton. My DD also loves "I love you stinkyface" and "on the night you were born". Plus, anything with puppies in it and the sesame street first board books. She is a book fiend, so we have a ton.

  4. 'Going to bed book' for sure. She loves "peek a who", but I think she'll be growing out of it soon.

  6. We're on a Eric Carle kick right now. Sam's favs are The Very Busy Spider (because he likes to make the animal noises) and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Anna likes The Very Hungry Caterpillar because she likes to stick her fingers in the holes. Other favs right now are 10 Wriggly, Wiggly Caterpillars, and the Peek-a-... books by by Marie Torres Cimarusti. We actually have to hide Peek-a-Moo and Peek-a-Bloom, or they won't let us put them down without a temper tantrum!

I like Llama, Llama Red Pajama too. :)

  8. Hi there, sorry to leave this comment in a random place on your blog but I didn't see an email address. First off, congratulations on your beautiful girl and another on the way! I wanted to ask about your slightly diminished reserve diagnosis. I am 29, have been trying to conceive #2 since last November, 3 chem pgs lost at 4 wks, 5 days, finally dx with diminished reserve in June (FSH 12.5, AMH .62, 8 antral follicles). If it isn't too personal, I was wondering what your numbers were? I am desperate for some hope in this! I just can't believe I have diminished reserve at 29. Anyway, thank you so much for your blog. All the best to you.
